Clare Butterfield
"With a 20+ year career in Chicago’s nonprofit sector I have been a founding director (of Faith in Place), and a grantmaker (at the Illinois Science and Energy Innovation Foundation and now at the Christopher Family Foundation), so I’ve been on all sides of the funding table. CWIP has been a resource for me from the beginning. My first CWIP event was a Face to Face With Funders opportunity when I was new to grantmaking. The welcome I felt was immediate and warm, and I knew that I would benefit from this energetic network of talented women from all parts of our sector. Since joining I have served on the Program Committee, joined the Board, mentored a mid-career mentee, and started the GIRLS Committee. Now I’m co-chairing the Board, which is such an honor when I think about the women who have come before me. CWIP is designed for women in our field by women in our field. It’s a courageous space, and an amazing asset. Join us!"
